With Maredo machines you can maintain your turf faster with less shutdown time and less effort using the newest technologies on the market. Increase your quality maintenance level and drop maintenance costs.
The Maredo GT190 Fraze-Groomer, pulls out the POA plant, using a very special technology. Around the main drive shaft, special thin cutting blades are mounted, not square, but at an slight angle. The main shaft is driven via a gearbox, that turns the rotation in the opposite direction and that reduces the revs. As a result, each individual blade tip cuts a short slit by its own.
The next blade tip on the row cuts a slit just aside the previous one. So over the full width of the machine we have many short slits (side to side distance 3,8 mm = 0.150”), created by the individual tips of the counter rotating blades. If a shallow rooted weed or POA was sitting in that area, it would have been pulled out. It is like using a fine rake. The operation thins your turf in a random way, pulling out the material that is not well established yet. The working depth can be set at something like 2-6 mm = 0.08 – 0.24”. It is advisable not to go deeper, because if we go deeper we may get too much damage. The cutting blade thickness is 0.8 mm = 0.03”. A stainless steel collecting box is standard incorporated. The GT190 Fraze-Groomer is also an ideal tool to thin and brush up dense turf. It works like a groomer, but much more intensive. Normally you can work at mowing speed. The slower you go, the more intensive the meshed pattern.
For the maximum in productivity and performance, a bidirectional blower can be added. This allows you to edge and blow debris from the area being edged all in one efficient pass. The blower has multiple positions including right, left or down which adds to its versatility. The ED202 mounts quickly, utilizing the Ventrac Mount System.
The Maredo® GT210 VibeSpike-Aerator for the Greens fits your triplex greens mower and turns it into a spike aerator, using a special technique to drive the spikes in the soil.
We all know how hard it is to push a drum type spiker in the ground. You need a lot of weight and next you get damaged hole edges. Maredo has developed a new technique to overcome this problem. Maredo uses vibration to hammer a spike in the soil. The 6 spike sections are mounted around a driven camshaft. The spike sections roll over the ground and next they vibrate when the cam shaft is driven. This vibration helps to drive the spike in the soil, de-compact the soil and finally leave a nice, clean hole. Another great thing is that at the moment the spike reaches a hard spot, we only have to drive slower. We get more vibrations per spike, which hammers the spikes finally in the soil.
The maximum working depth is 35 mm. = 1-1/2” and can be adjusted over the front roller. The GT210 creates about 700 holes per square meter. The spike thickness is 3 mm. = 0.120”. It can be used at mowing speed and you can play right away. It is a quick way to open up the top layer of your greens and tees. Several customers uses them every 2-3 weeks, just before mowing the greens.
The Maredo® GT214 VibeDisc-Slicer for Cutting the Turf fits your triplex greens mower and turns it into a slicer, that cuts your turf, roots and grass runners in a clean way.
There are many slicers on the market. The majority uses weight to cut through the tough (thatch) layer. But we all know how hard that is. And the reason is easy. No cutting movement, only pushing and rolling. It is like a sharp knife that we push through the bread, instead of moving the knife forward – backward. Pushing damages the bread and doesn’t leave a nice cut behind. That is exactly the same what happens when we use a standard rolling slicer disk on a thatch layer. The Maredo GT214 VibeDisc-Slicer for Cutting the Turf uses vibration to create a forward – backward cutting action on the slicer blade. Due to this action, the slicer blade cuts a perfect slit, without the top turf layer being pushed down (leaving an uneven surface).
The maximum working depth is 35 mm = 1-1/2” and this can be adjusted over the front roller. The slit distance is 42 mm =1.65”. The slicer blade thickness is 0.8 mm = 0.030” and they are made from hardened stainless steel. Because the blades can easily be damaged while stored on a concrete floor, we deliver trolleys as well. These trolleys make life so easy. Basically, you never have to pick up the heads by hand. They are either on the machine or on the trolley.
The Maredo GT230 HiSpeed-Corer for Removing the Thatch fits your triplex greens mower and turns it into a very special coring machine, which removes your thatch in another way.
For years we removed thatch with a verticutter. A verticutter is basically a rotary mower on the side. And did you know that the tip speed of a greens mower verticutter is about 4-5 x less than a regular rotary mower? Any idea how the thatch is “cut”? There is no cutting, we just pull the thatch out. And that hurts the turf. We see that next day. Look at the brown edges alongside the verticut slits. It takes time for the grass to recover. During this period, the grass is very vulnerable and needs more water, fertilizer, otherwise it may get sick. It simply isn’t the right way to remover thatch.
That is the bad part. The good part is that there is a new, much better way to remove your thatch. USE THE MAREDO GT230 HISPEED-CORER for Removing the Thatch. It pulls out the thatch with small hollow tines, that make a real cut. You don’t see a brown edge next day along the hole edge. Even better, the holes are gone in 2-3 days (while the verticut slits stay there for 2-3 weeks). It goes as fast as mowing. 4 million holes per hour are punched with your triplex greens mower up to 25 mm./ 1” deep. Deeper than what can be achieved with a verticutter on a triplex. And because it is fast, quick healing and not hurting your turf, you can do it every 4-5 weeks. And the holes are great for your dusting, fertilizer and irrigation water too.
It comes standard with 11 mm =0.430” outside diameter hollow tines. Cross, needle, solid and smaller hollows are available as an option too. An indispensable tool for everybody that wants to maintain his greens in a more sustainable way!
The Maredo GT250 CountRo-Sweeper fits your triplex greens mower and turns it into a very effective collecting brush or a brush that brushes the topdress into the turf and aeration holes.
There are more brushes on the market these days that fit on a triplex greens mower. They run at high speed forward. The Maredo GT250 CountRo-Sweeper is the only one that counter rotates at a lower speed. This is achieved by using a very special gearbox, that turned our greensmower sweeper into the most effective collecting brush. And being so effective means that it easily picks up all kinds of items like tree needle, leaves, redundant topdress, cores, worm piles etc. etc. It is also used to brush off dew on a green.
The other nice application is brushing in the topdress sand. Again, because the brush counter rotates, the topdress is pick up very effectively, smashed against a deflector plate which guides the topdress straight into turf and aeration holes. Some customers are using the heads to brush up dense turf and because the brush counter rotates, they state that the GT250 works very effectively in thinning their turf.
It comes standard with its own stainless steel collecting box (as the triplex ones does not match) and a topdress deflector plate.
The Maredo® GT300 VibeShoe-Roller for Increasing Green Speed fits your triplex greens mower and turns it into a new type “roller” that smoothens your green.
Green speed is an important issue. Not always a high stimp value is required, more often a consistent stimp on all greens is what is asked for. Rolling is seen as the best answer for increasing you stimp value and consistency, however some question if that is true as a roller has a tendency to push things forward. Just think about a puddle. If you go through a puddle, all water is pushed forward. The same will happen with the edge of a ball mark. It is all pushed in one direction.
The Maredo GT300 VibeShoe-Roller for Increasing Green Speed pushes vertically down with its shoes. We can set how much we want to push (as we know that we create more compaction at the moment we smoothen our surface by e.g. rolling). The GT300 uses 6 rounded shoes that “walk” over the green. By pushing down on the turf, they smoothen the whole surface, increasing the consistency and the stimp value. At maximum machine settings, an increase of 25- 30% of the stimp value is possible in one pass.
Another application is “brushing or pushing in” the topdress. Just set the height so that the vibrating plates so that they just touch the topdress. Doing it like this will safe the turf from getting stressed, while the topdress finds its way through the turf.
The Maredo GT410 VibeSpike-Seeder for bent fits your triplex greens mower and turns it into an overseeder for your greens and tees.
The GT410 has a spiker shaft that creates the holes. The spike sections roll over the turf and next they vibrate due to the driven central cam shaft. The grass seeds are fed from the front by the seed box, which is driven by the front roller. The dosing is set via exchangeable gearwheels and start from 2 gram per square meter. When the seed drops down, it is funneled exactly in front of the spikes. The rolling spikes pick up the seed and plant the seed in the hole they are punching. The rear brush takes care of the seed falling in between the holes and the rear roller finishes the surface.
The GT410 VibeSpike-Seeder for bent works at mowing speed. It creates 1100 tiny clean holes per square meter. You don’t need to do anything afterwards. You can play right after it. And since the overseeding of 18 regular greens takes only 4-5 hours, you can plan the overseeding in between the players. As this is an easy job, current users overseed every 4-5 weeks during the growing season, preparing a seedbed in the soil.
The Maredo GT424 VibeTine-Seeder is a very quick and efficient Fescue overseeder. The GT424 is perfect for overseeding greens, tees and surroundings.
Overseeding is important for cold season grasses. It should be done regularly to create a strong and healthy top layer. However, regular overseeding can be a time-consuming operation. The Maredo GT 424 will change this. Because of the unique, clean and efficient way of overseeding with a triplex greens mower it will now be possible to overseed as fast and clean as no one has ever done before.
The Maredo GT424 VibeTine-Seeder will replace the existing GT414 VibeSpike-Seeder for Fescue. The GT424 is more accurate and produces more holes for the seed to germinate in. A completely new method of overseeding is used. Six tine sections with exchangeable different kinds of solid tines punch holes in the top turf layer. Right behind these small solid tines are seed funnels mounted which will drop the seed directly in the holes. A mounted brush will help to get all the seed into the holes.
With this new Vibe Tine method the amount of holes can be determined by the forward speed. The side-to-side hole distance is 29 mm (1-1/8″). The GT424 can also be used to plant all other kinds of granulars efficiently into your top turf layer. An ideal Overseeder for greens, surroundings, tees etc.
Mowing speed is perfectly possible with these overseeding heads. With this GT424 efficiency and germination rate have doubled. If you are looking for the fastest method to overseed the Maredo GT424 heads are the solution!
The MTools are heavy duty heads developed for a (compact) tractor. To connect them to the 3 Point of the tractor, we need a frame. This led to the development of the Mframe 319 to Connect Heads to the Tractor, which can hold 3 MT heads.
This MFrame has a full mechanical drive line for the 3 heads and flexible connection points to connect the MT head.
The overall working width of the MFrame with 3 MT heads attached is 1900 mm = 76”. The mechanical drive line consists of PTO shafts and gearboxes, which altogether is a very reliable drive line that can not slip or leak. The MFrame fits 20-45 HP (compact) tractors, which have a 3- Point CAT 1 connection and a 540 PTO. The weight of the Mframe 319 is 130 kg. Add the weight of the 3 MT heads for calculating to total weight.
It is possible to make wide turns with the MFrame. The MFrame + Mtools are ideal for fairways, sportfields, parks etc.
When the MT200 Flex-Verticutter heads are mounted behind the tractor, it becomes a verticutter. All heads are mechanically driven and can follow the undulations individually. Curves can be made easily. The machine can be used for a shallow cut (verticut) or a deeper cut (scarifying).
The MT200 Flex-Verticutter head for Behind the Tractor is a heavy duty head with the following specifications:
Easy depth adjustment by hand (no tools required).
At the front side a support roller, at the rear support wheels.
Standard we have mounted carbide tipped 2 mm thick cutting blades.
The standard disk spacing is 40 mm.
The blades counter rotate against driving direction. This works more effective as the material is not dragged down into the slit but get’s lifted out by the blades.
The blade rotation direction can be changed by turning over the gearboxes.
The heads are driven by maintenance free drive chains positioned on the side of each head.
The MT200 is a maintenance friendly machine. Maintenance includes; a once a year oil change of the gearboxes, greasing all ten lubrication points and cleaning with compressed air after each use.
The Maredo MT210 VibeSpike-Aerator is a great tool for relieving compaction in stressed turf. The vibrating spikes crack the soil and punch holes to get air into the ground. The flexible design of the MT210 makes that the machine follows all undulations and allows the operator to make curves with the machine. The Maredo MT210 isn’t comparable to any other regular spike aerators in the market as the spike sections of the MT210 vibrate for optimal penetration.
The VibeSpike-Aerator uses the same innovative technology as the other spikers in the Maredo range. The rolling spike sections vibrate due to the driven central cam shaft. This vibration makes that the spikes are hammered in the soil, crack the soil and leave a nice clean hole when retracted.
The profile or build up of the toplayer on greens is very important. Too much organic matter or too less sand can have influence on the resistance against diseases. If the top layer stays wet for too long, the grass might struggles and will have a lower resistance against diseases. Especially when outside temperatures are higher. It is important to drain the water away from the root-zone as soon as possible. The ST160 CleanCut-SandFiller is a great tool to increase the percentage of sand in the top layer. By cutting clean cuts the sand will reach a depth up to 25mm. As it makes clean cuts there is no need to remove organic material afterwards. The green can be rolled and the game can continue.
Fraze-Mowing, Fraise-Mowing or sometimes called Turf stripping is a great method to remove the top surface of grass area. The only things that are left behind are roots, the crowns of the grass plants and a perfect flat surface. Ideal for overseeding or re-sodding. Fraze-Mowing machines however were only available in large size behind tractors. This was until MAREDO introduced the ST170 FlexFraze-Mower. A compact ST head that will remove the top surface leaving a smooth and flat surface ready to overseed. With the ST170 it now is possible to convert troubled grass areas into new and healthy grass carpets.
The MAREDO ST200 Flex-Verticutter offers the same proved quality and technology as the MAREDO MT200 Flex-Verticutter but than as a single and compact unit. Great cutting quality and good grass recovery are key-words. The Carbide tipped blades will remove a lot of material and will leave well-cut slits. The reverse rotating blades will spread all material even across the surface.
Grass and roots need Oxygen. Regular aeration is important to get this Oxygen right to the part of the grass where it needs it most: at the roots. MAREDO found a quick and efficient way to aerate grass and designed the MAREDO MT210 VibeSpike-Aerator. The unique system of vibratory spike sections helps reaching a working depth up to 60mm. The vibrating spikes will also relieve soil compaction and help stimulate healthy grass growth.
Overseeding grass is important to keep it strong and resistant against all kinds of outside threats. Regular overseeding keeps your grass green and healthy. MAREDO designed an efficient solution for overseeding or interseeding small, medium and large areas: The MAREDO ST418 VibeDisc-Seeder. The ST418 is a slit seeder which will plant the seed. A shaft with vibratory discs will produce a pattern of pre-cut slits. Right behind these discs, V-shaped round discs will open the pre-cut slit right at the position where the seeds drop. The seed will be 'planted' in the slit making it protected against the weather and birds and ready to germinate. The large diameter rear roller will help closing the slits and will also drive the seed dosing system. Changing gears help setting the right dosage needed.
Powered with an electric start and big horsepower. The Honda produces an impressive 12.5 Hp. Where multiple treatments needed to be done to maintain turf in small, medium, and larger areas, multiple machines always needed to be available. This was before MAREDO introduced one machine that could execute all these maintenance jobs: The MAREDO STrac! The STrac is a multifunctional tool carrier. The STrac can carry one MAREDO ST head.
